BNZ Hoops & Dreams Tour
We have an exciting event happening in Tauranga, Saturday 28th March 2026 at Mercury Baypark Arena.
Basketball New Zealand, in partnership with Bank of New Zealand and proudly hosted by Tauranga Basketball, is thrilled to present “BNZ Kiwi Hoops – Hoops and Dreams Tour”, a BNZ Kiwi Hoops 3x3 event designed to inspire and connect tamariki through basketball.
BNZ Kiwi Hoops is Basketball New Zealand’s official junior programme for tamariki aged 5–13 years old. It focuses on building confidence, teamwork, and fundamental basketball skills through fun, inclusive activities and gameplay. Whether kids are just starting out or already dribbling with confidence, this programme encourages participation, creativity, and a love for the game.
Hoops & Dreams Public Events are free, fun “come and try” basketball sessions are for tamariki aged 8–13, delivered by Basketball New Zealand in collaboration with Tauranga Basketball and proudly supported by BNZ.
These events are especially for kids who are curious about basketball, want to explore and practice their skills, or those who are looking to learn the basics in a supportive, welcoming environment. No experience is needed—just bring your energy and curiosity!
Hoops & Dreams is about sparking a lifelong love of basketball, building confidence, and connecting communities—powered by BNZ’s commitment to growing the game for every child in Aotearoa.
What to Expect:
- Two action-packed sessions:
- Morning: 9:30am–11:30am
- Afternoon: 1:30pm–3:30pm
- A safe and encouraging environment for tamariki to play, learn, and gain confidence
- Age and stage-appropriate coaching from experienced BNZ Kiwi Hoops coaches
- Special guest stars
- Loads of fun, connection, and inspiration!
